A MESSAGE REGARDING NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

USA is committed to enforcing practices that promote a healthy and safe work environment, as such USA continues to monitor the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in California and Nevada. USA continues to perform pre-screening procedures prior to job assignment and upon return from time off from work, such as asking the following questions:

1. Have you traveled outside of the U.S.A. in the past 14-days?
2. Have you been in close physical contact with someone known to have COVID-19 within the past 14-days?
3. Have you received medical certification to self-isolate/quarantine or to remain off from work due to COVID-19 within the past 14-days and have not been released to work as of today’s date?
4. Are you currently experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms, such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, tiredness, body aches, sore throat, nausea, or diarrhea?

Additionally, information has been posted or distributed regarding the virus and standard health practices, such as staying home when sick, frequent handwashing, coughing and sneezing etiquette, use of face coverings and more. USA continues to recommend that host clients provide or engage in the following:

  • Face masks distributed to all entrants to the facility
  • Face masks required to be worn while in the facility
  • Enhanced sanitation efforts on a daily basis (i.e., more than routine cleaning)
  • Plant closure for remediation cleaning once/if cluster exposure has occurred (i.e., at least 10-positive cases in a 48-hour period at the same jobsite)
  • Break areas with required social distancing or extended placement of tables (i.e., not close together)
  • Plastic barriers in certain departments
  • Social distancing in certain departments when achievable, such as 1-way walkways, etc.
  • Implementation of mandatory temperature checks at the facility for all entrants
  • Required COVID-19 testing for all employees if plant is closed due to outbreak or based on recommendation or requirement of a public health agency

USA will continue to post notices from the state’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health and the Center for Disease Control, for the foreseeable future.

USA has suspended group activities, such as Employee Appreciation gatherings at the branch location. Temporary workers continue to be encouraged to enroll in Direct Deposit for payment of wages, in lieu of in-person pickup of payroll checks. As additional alternatives to person-to-person contact become available, USA will implement those in the best interest of business and public health and safety.

Employees are encouraged to contact a local branch office if they need a face covering or other personal protective equipment, to discuss a leave of absence or reasonable accommodation, or to report any unsafe work conduct.
