Machine Operator Level 1

Duties include: Keeping work areas clean & well organized; Reporting to work areas on time at beginning of shift &/or after each rest period; Observing safety practices & complying with company policies & procedures; Informing lead &/or supervisor immediately when problem interferes with machinery; Informing Lead or Supervisor of any discrepancies regarding any issues (i.e. Production, Safety Hazards/Issues, Lock Out Tag Out, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures); Immediately informing Lead &/or Supervisor when finished product does not meet required specifications; Suggesting changes as needed to improve working condition for employees &/or use of equipment to increase efficiency in processing rooms; Operating machines in safe manner according to safety guidelines including lockout/tag-out procedures & daily inspections of equipment (i.e. evolutions, x-ray machine(s), multi scan(s), bliss machine(s), pattyn, concerti, okura, pasteurizer(s), preheater(s), etc.); Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment start up & operation on various pieces of equipment; Setting up machinery to start production cycle for operation; Monitoring machinery, product flow, etc. & general packaging of product; Ensuring that proper packaging materials are used to each customer’s specifications; Operating machinery & equipment according to instructions/specifications; Ensuring all paperwork is filled out & legible in accurate format; Working in various assigned areas depending on staffing & production needs; Maintaining communication with other departments, management, & employees; Communicating any problems &/or concerns that may restrict efficiency of production; Logging container/material information using scanning devices & manufacturing execution system (MES) software; Filling out daily inspection log per shift &/or vehicle; Reporting any damages, incidents, & material shortages to lead &/or supervisor; Ensuring bins are free of contaminants such as trash, mold, dust, flavoring, etc. before filling bins.
