Maintenance Electrician

Duties include: Utilizing preventative maintenance system to record & schedule maintenance requests orders; Considering personal safety first in all situations; Performing specialized tasks within individual mechanic’s skill area such as fabrication, assembly, welding, burning, cutting, electrical, & pipefitting; Directing work of helpers as required; Observing pneumatic & hydraulic systems, control valves, pumps, & plant machinery to locate causes of trouble; Dismantling devices to gain access to & remove defective parts; Examining form & texture of parts to detect imperfections; Inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements; Adjusting functional parts of devices & control instruments; Repairing or replacing defective parts; Installing special functional & structural parts in devices; Lubricating & cleaning parts, machinery, & equipment; Starting devices to test their performance; Setting up & operating lathe, drill press, grinder, & other metalworking tools to make & repair parts; Initiating purchase order for parts & machines; Storing materials such as metals, tools, or chemicals in designated areas; Troubleshooting, repairing, & maintaining all facility electrical systems to board level; Installing, wiring, & programming controllers; Running conduit & pulling wire to schematic specifications; Maintaining & repairing main distribution panels, sub-panels, & machine control panels; Proficiently operating all production equipment in plant; Working with & programming hardware for PLC systems, D/C motors & drives, A/C motors, & variable frequency drives; Performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications: High school diploma/GED. 1-6 yrs related work exp. preferred. Wage: $28.00 hr. (#4.0219.303 – Visalia)
