Senior Accountant

Duties include: Performing complex & specialized professional level accounting & auditing work in number of areas relating to municipal accounting procedures & records; Providing training to department staff & leading direction to assigned Accounting & clerical staff; Providing professional level support to Accounting section; Exercising high degree of independent judgment on diverse & specialized accounting projects & maintaining significant accountability for ongoing decision making associated with work; Establishing & ensuring proper maintenance of accounting records & office files; Researching, analyzing, & compiling periodic reports from such information for Assistant Finance Director. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university with major in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or related field; 3-5 yrs professional-level accounting exp., preferably in governmental fund accounting or other public agency setting. Masters degree may be substituted for accounting exp. on year for year basis to a maximum of 2 yrs. Wage: $36.53 hr. (#4.1206.108 – Delano)
