Need skilled Diesel Mechanic with CNG knowledge for full-time, senior role in North SLO County, CA. Using your excellent knowledge of diesel engines, commitment to high standards of quality & safety, & strong problem-solving skills, you will be part of a team performing all types of maintenance & repairs on a fleet of commercial vehicles. Duties include: Performing routine maintenance & inspections on diesel-powered buses, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, & fluid checks; Diagnosing mechanical & electrical issues with bus engines, transmission systems, suspension, & other components; Repairing or replacing defective parts, including engine components, electrical systems, brakes, & exhaust systems; Conducting troubleshooting & diagnostic tests using specialized equipment & tools; Performing emergency repairs to minimize vehicle downtime & ensure timely service; Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance & repair work, including parts used & labor hours; Ensuring buses comply with local safety standards & regulations; Following company procedures for equipment safety, maintenance schedules, & inspections; Maintaining clean & organized work area & ensuring proper disposal of hazardous materials; Communicating with supervisors & management about status of repairs & any needed parts or resources; Staying up-to-date with advancements in diesel technology & repair techniques. Required qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent; 5+ yrs proven exp. as diesel mechanic, preferably with exp. in bus or large vehicle maintenance; Exp. working on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Engines; Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred); Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, & electrical systems; Ability to read & interpret technical manuals, schematics, & service bulletins; Strong diagnostic skills & familiarity with diagnostic tools & software; Excellent problem-solving skills & attention-to-detail; Ability to work independently & as part of team. Physical ability to lift heavy parts, kneel, & work in confined spaces; Strong commitment to safety & quality standards. Certification from diesel mechanic program or related training preferred. Anticipated Work Schedule: Mon-Fri/8:00am-4:30pm, with overtime required when necessary. Direct Hire position. Wage: $43.00-$47.00 hr. DOE plus benefits. (#5.0303.101 – Paso Robles)
