Are you passionate about the culinary arts & ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef for a winery restaurant to support kitchen operations for daily service & winery/private events. Reporting to the Culinary Director & Estate Chef, you’ll work alongside a team of professionals committed to delivering exceptional culinary experiences, combining locally inspired ingredients with innovative techniques. If you take pride in your ability to maintain high standards of quality & excellence while managing the demands of a busy kitchen, we want to hear from you! Duties include: Maintaining compliance with all Food Safety Regulations & standards; Assisting with daily kitchen preparation, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently & accurately; Supporting team during service by executing recipes & plating dishes with precision & attention-to-detail; Helping with food delivery & bussing tasks as needed; Delivering outstanding customer service during guest interactions; Ensuring kitchen is clean, sanitized, & organized, including work surfaces, equipment, fridges, freezers, & shelves; Taking responsibility for dishwashing duties throughout day to support kitchen operations. Required qualifications: At least 21 yrs old to participate in food & wine pairings; Min. 1 yr. exp. as Sous Chef; Possess basic knife skills & cooking knowledge (e.g., sautéing, frying, baking, braising, blanching); Capable of reading & accurately executing recipes; Proficient in safely operating kitchen equipment & tools; Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.; Demonstrate professional appearance & demeanor; Exhibit strong time management skills & dependability; Ability to multitask & collaborate effectively with team members; Exhibit honest, professional communication & commitment to teamwork; Availability to meet scheduling needs, including evenings, weekends, events, & holidays as required. Anticipated work schedule is Thu-Mon/9:30am-5:00pm, with some variability to meet kitchen & business needs. Temp-to-Hire position. Wage: $23.00-$27.00 hr. DOE. (#5.0120.101 – Paso Robles)
