Needed for 2025 season. Great opportunity to learn about wine industry & work hands-on with winemakers. Interviews are starting now. Internship is anticipated to begin in early Sept. & continue through Nov. Duties include: Sanitizing winery facilities & equipment; Managing crushing, sorting, & pressing processes; Overseeing cap management tasks, such as pump-overs, punch-downs, & delestages; Performing additions & inoculations during fermentation; Draining & pressing after fermentation; Cleaning, filling, & topping barrels; Preparing & maintaining winery equipment; Conducting racking & transfers of wine; Collecting tank & barrel samples for analysis. Required qualifications: 1+ yrs exp.; Strong verbal & written communication skills for interactions with management at all levels; Ability to work independently & within team; Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.; Comfortable with frequent physical labor, including bending & navigating stairs while carrying loads; Ability to work in both hot & cold environments (indoors & outdoors); Willingness to work in confined spaces, adhering to all relevant safety & regulatory guidelines; Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, averaging 40-60 hrs per week (8-10 hrs per day); Passion for wine, willingness to learn, & ability to follow detailed procedures. Prior wine exp. or education in related field preferred. Forklift exp. preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Anticipated work schedule is Mon-Fri/6:00am-2:30pm with overtime required, including weekends. Seasonal position. Wage: $19.00-$22.00 hr. DOE. (#5.0319.101 – Paso Robles)
